Lift kits come with a good amount of variety. So, we’d like to show you a few of the popular ways to really augment your off-roading experience with this equipment.
Lift Kit Styles
You’ll typically encounter three general lift-kit styles: leveling, coil-over, and drop-down lift kits.
Leveling Kits
We call these “level” because you’ll get a lift that’s level throughout your entire vehicle, front to back. This approach can raise your vehicle a couple of inches on both ends, allow more room for larger tires, and it’s also the most cost-effective lifting method.
Coil-Over Kits
This kind of kit costs a little more, but the higher price is commensurate with a really good lift that allows you to drive faster . . . even on tough terrain. It’ll raise you about two/three inches and provide for plenty of ground clearance.
Drop-Down Lift Kits
We saved the best for last because this is how you REALLY get your truck, Jeep, or SUV off the ground. It would put you about three inches off the surface, allow you to clear almost any obstacle, and greatly enhance maneuverability. Once you get to this stage of the game, you might also consider upgrading other components such as your suspension.
